A salute to the military at Sunday’s Padres game
Marine Corps Appreciation Day at Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park, part of the team’s season long Military Sunday salutes.
More than 100 Marines from the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and I Marine Expeditionary Force from Camp Pendleton will line the baselines during pregame ceremonies.
The Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego will present the colors. The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band will perform the national anthem. Huey and Cobra helicopters from the Camp Pendleton based Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369 will conduct a flyover.
Cpl. Chance Wilkerson of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing will throw the ceremonial first pitch. The Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego bulldog mascot Smedley will be introduced at home plate.
Staff Sgt. Brent Williams will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch. He was 61.
